				<div class="et_pb_text_inner"><p>We don’t know if we will remember the name of the snow storm (Filomena) in a few years, but the beautiful images it is offering us will surely be etched in our retinas.</p>
<p><strong>We hadn’t seen this huge quantity of snow for a long time!</strong></p>
<p>The vineyards, the cereal, the olive trees and other crops, will also remember this snowfall as it will <strong>nourish the plants for many many days.</strong> ‘A year of snow is a good year’, remember the elders of the village.</p>
<p>They refer precisely to these benefits that snow gives to the earth; on the one hand, the contribution of <strong>moisture over a long period of time,</strong> but it is also good for the<strong> decomposition of the ground lumps</strong> and the low temperatures that accompany them, which will <strong>respect the vegetative cycle and avoid multiple unwanted</strong> <strong>fungi</strong> and insects.</p>

<p>This past 3rd of July we organized at<strong><a href="/en/"> Mas Vicenç</a></strong> a solidary event called <strong>‘our vineyards, your garden’.</strong> The initiative is shared with other wineries of the DO Tarragona <strong>to enjoy again unique moments of wine tourism after the long and hard confinement</strong> that we have had to live and also to collaborate with the #joemcorono foundation that fights against the existence of the coronavirus.</p>
<p>The experience at Mas Vicenç was based on a walk through the vineyards and afterwards a dinner in the cellar square with oriental cuisine, the wines of the winery and saxophone melodies.</p>
<p>It was the comeback of the smiles!</p>

<p>This year we are entering <strong>into the bubble world</strong> due to the research of the <strong>ancestral method</strong>. According to the evolution and acceptance that they have during this first year, we will officially launch a new range of sparkling wines of <strong><a href="/en/">Mas Vicenç</a></strong>.</p>
<p>At the moment, they can only be tasted and purchased at the <a href="/en/our-winery-tarragona/">physical store of the winery.</a> But many will ask, <strong>what is an ancestral wine?</strong> It is a wine bottled during the last phase of the first fermentation to produce a sparkling wine with a fine bubble and the primary aromas of the grape variety.</p>
<p>So, to sum up, we’re in a bubble!</p>

<p>The XXV Wine Awards Ceremony of the Denomination of Origin Tarragona awarded <strong><a href="/en/">Mas Vicenç</a> </strong>with two first prizes with the wines <strong><a href="/en/producto/el-terrat-young-white-wine/">El Terrat 2018</a></strong> and <strong><a href="/en/producto/larlequi-oak-aged-red-wine/">Arlequí 2016</a></strong>. A blind tasting panel of 25 professionals tasted more than one hundred wines divided into 10 different categories with the aim of rewarding those that offer more quality and Mas Vicenç was one of the most awarded wineries with two first prizes in the categories of ‘Aromatic white wines’ and ‘Oak aged red wines’.</p>
<p>This recognition reaffirms the value of the wines of Mas Vicenç and encourages us to continue working to offer wines of high quality and with good acceptation in the market.</p>

				<div class="et_pb_text_inner"><p>Muscat of Frontignan – Chardonnay – Garnacha – Macabeo – Malvasia – Tempranillo – Syrah – Merlot – Cabernet – Cariñena. This is usually the vintage order of varieties of <strong><a href="/en/">Mas Vicenç.</a></strong></p>
<p>Each of them has its own characteristics and ripen at different speeds. In addition, we must take into account the <strong>characteristics of each single vineyard,</strong> either in height and slate terrain or in lower slopes in different mountainside. Oh, we must also take into account the <strong>humidity-ventilation relationship</strong> and, as is obvious, the weather forecast for future days.</p>
<p>Hey! Inside the cellar the first fermentations go at full speed! These are days of high concentration and much decision-making. We need to have the five senses on stage to make every year the best possible wines.</p>

				<div class="et_pb_text_inner"><p>In <a href="/en/"><strong>Mas Vicenç winery</strong></a> we have recently bottled the new vintages of the <strong>young white wine <em>El Terrat</em>, the rosé wine <em>Flors i Violes</em> and the sweet wine <em>Vi del Vent</em>.</strong> All three wines come from this last harvest and its freshness in mouth and aromas are fantastic now!</p>
<p>In addition, we also have available <strong>the vintage 2016 of our oak aged red wine Nit de Lluna</strong> so we start the year with great novelties.</p>

				<div class="et_pb_text_inner"><p>Next Sunday 4th of November we organize the latest edition of the year of the activity <strong>‘<a href="/en/wine-tourism-tarragona/chocolate-and-life/">Chocolate and life</a></strong>’. This experience of union between the best handmade chocolate and wines is always organized on the first Sundays of the months of March, May, September and November.</p>
<p><strong>The objective is to bring the world of blending to the people in a very original way.</strong> First of all, the pastry chef Roger Vallvé from Ca les Taronges of Valls prepares five pieces of chocolate with different ingredients and percentages of cocoa.</p>
<p>With them, we select which wine of <strong><a href="/en/">Mas Vicenç</a></strong> is the most appropriate for each one. The result always ends up being surprising and entertaining!</p>

<p>The harvest of this year is generally very good. <strong>The vineyards have been benefited from higher registers in rainfall during the year</strong> and this has been reflected in a <strong>significant increase in the amount of grapes. </strong></p>
<p>However, the task of prevention of diseases in the vineyard has had to be very rigorous. Today, 25th of September, and with the 60% of the harvest surpassed, the health state of the fruit has been excellent and surely the wines will know how to reflect!</p>
<p>We will keep you informed … <br />Now, crossing fingers for the good news for the rest of harvest 2018!</p>
