Re-evolving tradition: From a farmer life and the self-sufficiency of the origins to the wine revolution of the fifth generation. Mas Vicen\u00e7 is the name of the Ferr\u00e9 & Morat\u00f3 family’s farmhouse, where transcends a history of five generations linked to the vineyards.<\/p>\n

The winery is integrated into the farmhouse Mas Vicen\u00e7 and is geographically located in the north of the Alt Camp region, bordering the Conca de Barber\u00e0 region.<\/p>\n

The farms are cultivated respecting the environment and soils of calcareous, clay and slate character are distinguished depending on the altitude, with an eminently Mediterranean climate.<\/p>\n

Mas Vicen\u00e7 is a family winery built inside a traditional Catalan farmhouse, popularly know as \u2018Masia\u2019. It is located at the foot of the neck of the mountains ‘Coll de Cabra’ and bordering the mountain range where the Alt Camp region and the Conca de Barber\u00e0 are adjoining. The winery stands out for its authenticity and for being surrounded by vineyards and other typically Mediterranean crops. As a result of this landscape, with small parcels separated by majestic dry stone walls, a range of products is born such as wines, olive oil, nuts or flower honey.<\/p>\n

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN<\/h2>\n

The story begins in 1953 when the farmer Vicen\u00e7 Ferr\u00e9, with 90 years of age and an entire life dedicated to the land, had the chance to acquire the property. It was the farmhouse where he grew up and the first thing he did was proudly baptizing it with his name: Mas Vicen\u00e7. Since then, five generations have passed in which the cultivation of the vineyard has always been transcendental for the family.\u00a0<\/p>\n

THE WINE REVOLUTION<\/h2>\n

It is the year 2005, when the eldest son of the fifth generation and opportunely the next Vicen\u00e7 in the family saga, began to make the first Mas Vicen\u00e7 wines from the most appreciated grapes of the family estates. His dream was to make wine from those older vineyards that took him back to childhood memories and it became a reality after gaining knowledge and experience as a winemaker in Priorat and C\u00f4te du Rhone in France.<\/p>\n

In 2011, the young brother Xavier joins the family wine project after his studies of International Business and Comercialization in Liverpool and Professional Sommelier in Tarragona, to lead the commercial and communicative roles of the company. \u00a0From a pure family work and the boost provided by the youth, Mas Vicen\u00e7 produces wines with the aim to re-evolve the tradition.<\/p>\n

Currently the winery is represented by the four members of the family to produce and commercialize wines, olive oil, vinegar and honey, fruit of the best family crops. Furthermore, wine tourism has become a key scenario to bring the daily life of the winery closer to all wine lovers.<\/p>\n

The two brothers Vicen\u00e7 and Xavier Ferr\u00e9 lead the project as a winemaker and sommelier, the father Francesc Ferr\u00e9 pampers the fields and the mother, Maria Morat\u00f3, leads the administration to achieve the perfect balance.<\/p>\n
